The Wattisfield Community Centre and Recreation Ground Committee didn’t down the tools after the successful launch of their play project last year. The group have been working hard to encourage more people to fully use the new space by hosting events and publicising the site.
The group are now going one step further and are planning to make elephants fly to get people into the park!
Linda Dyer, Treasurer of the group said: “We are planning to hold a “When I see an Elephant fly” day, we have parachuted Teddies in 2008, Pigs in 2009 and this year we are parachuting (toy) Elephants from a telescopic forklift supplied by a local plant hire company. Tomlinson Groundcare provide us with a gaitor to collect the fallen animals and take them to the medic tent, its all quite good fun, but maybe not when your teddy has to be resuscitated!”
The event will take place on Sunday 27th June and we look forward to seeing pictures of the flying elephants! Good luck with the event… sounds like a lot of fun!
