Publicity Toolkit Updates

Posted on 23rd November 2009 by

toolkit pic smallThe Community Spaces Publicity Toolkit has been updated.

The toolkit now contains additional information about social networking websites, launch events, when to acknowledge Community Spaces funding, and extra advice for large and flagship grant recipients.

Changes apply to sections 1, 2, 3 and 5.

The toolkit can be downloaded as a whole document, or section by section:  www.community-spaces.org.uk/toolkit

We recommend that groups refer to the toolkit when they are first awarded the grant, as it contains all the information relevant to promoting their Community Spaces project and will help them to meet the terms and conditions of the grant, throughout project delivery.

Questions and comments welcome!

Quick logo guidance

Have you been awarded a Community Spaces grant and aren’t too sure when you should be using the logos?  We realise that you have lots to think about during the course of your project delivery, but we must stress the importance of ackowledging your grant.

By signing the Offer of Grant letter, you are agreeing to our terms & conditions, which includes complying with both the Groundwork and Big Lottery Fund’s PR & branding guidelines.

To help you out, we have created the Publicity Toolkit, which can be downloaded from the Community Spaces website.  And if you don’t have time to read through it now, here’s the basics:

The Groundwork logo and Big Lottery Fund Beneficiary logo should be used on all forms of communication to do with your Community Spaces project, for example:

  • Press releases
  • Posters about the project
  • Signage
  • Interpretation boards
  • Letters about the project
  • Invitations to project launch eventgroundwork logo

In the midst of organising an event?

Posted on 8th July 2009 by

Are you in the midst of organising a small-scale, local event?  If so, we’d like to hear from you!

There are lots of Community Spaces projects due to hold a launch event and we want community groups to share their experiences to help others. If you have any handy hints to pass on about how to plan, organise or run an event,  please post your comments below.

For guidance on how to look after special guests, and other things to consider when organising an event, see Section 4 of  the Publicity Toolkit.  A full version of the toolkit can be downloaded from the Community Spaces website.

Are you thinking publicity?

To meet the requirements of a Community Spaces grant all successful projects are required to follow publicity and branding guidelines. To help groups think about and meet these requirements the Community Spaces team have put together an online Publicity Toolkit.

The toolkit provides guidance on using logos and promoting the project. It provides successful projects with hints, tips and guidance on getting the right publicity and effectively using both Big Lottery Fund and Groundwork UK logos.

We are keen to see the kinds of activities you are undertaking to promote your project. If you’re taking photos of your project please share them with us on Flickr. If you’ve produced a leaflet or are sending out a press release please send us a copy.

The Publicity Toolkit can be downloaded at the Community Spaces website. If your group would like further help, advice or information about publicity and branding then please contact press@community-spaces.org.uk
