Legendary eighties band, China Crisis, made a special guest appearance at the launch of the Community Spaces funded Meols Park project in Wirral, Cheshire.

The Park was packed out with families all enjoying the entertainment and activities. There were Donkey Rides, Horse & Cart Rides, Punch & Judy, a Viking Show, children’s rides and numerous novelty stalls.

Another famous face mingling with the crowd and enjoying the day with his family was Andy McClusky the frontman of OMD who is originally from Meols and has visited the newly installed play area before.

Newly re-vamped Meols Park Play Area, Meols, Wirral. Thank you to the friends group for the picture.

Eighties and nineties pop group, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD), co-founder and singer Andy McClusky paid a little visit back to his childhood park in Wirral last week.

McClusky visited the new play area that the Friends of Meols Park have recently re-vamped using funding from the Community Spaces programme.

McClusky wrote about his visit to the park on his own blog, and said: “How different it looks! The Friends of Meols Park have done a fantastic job of raising money to transform a tired and neglected old public space into a great new magnet for the local kids.”
