- China Crisis perform at the launch of Meols Park project
Legendary eighties band, China Crisis, made a special guest appearance at the launch of the Community Spaces funded Meols Park project in Wirral, Cheshire.
The Park was packed out with families all enjoying the entertainment and activities. There were Donkey Rides, Horse & Cart Rides, Punch & Judy, a Viking Show, children’s rides and numerous novelty stalls.
Another famous face mingling with the crowd and enjoying the day with his family was Andy McClusky the frontman of OMD who is originally from Meols and has visited the newly installed play area before.
The Community Spaces funded play area was officially opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Wirral, accompanied by the Mayor & Mayoress of Knowsley.

Hi there
I would like to thank everyone for their support and help at our Celebration Day. We couldn’t have achieved as quickly if it hadn’t been for our Community Spaces Grant and for that I am eternally grateful.
The day was a great success and we will build on this and aim to hold an annual event for years to come roll on the ‘Meols Show’.
There has been a geat community feel about the whole event in that we have had a very famous band from over the water in Liverpool helping our cause, we also had the Mayor and Mayoress of Knowsley attend together with our own Wirral Mayor and the ladys from St Johns Church,Meols doing the teas and coffees in St Andrew Church Meols. A real community engagement feel about it.
